It's a cult. Dont get suckered into joining it. No one chooses to join a cult, they join something they think is NOT a cult. Do your research to make sure.
One of their greatest tricks is equating pleasing God with doing things that makes you a JW. It's a mindfuck.

waste of time meeting with them, just stop going to meetings and FS, request to be left alone and then get on with living.
been out now for 10 yrs but life is a mess.

Sounds bogus to me. It sounds like guesswork and a lot of wishful thinking....
1- pray to god (whomever you may imagine him to be) asking for understanding.
2- study the background about the bible (from non-religious sources) to see where it came from.
3- discard (or at least set aside) chuyrch claims and dogma.. 4- read it, looking up archaeological/historical sources about the places and peoples referred to.
Me thinks this is a one of the regulars with multiple accounts back for more....
i sent my dad the fred franz talk "my story" when he somewhat candidly discusses the failed prophecies, 1925 etc.
i was hoping it would plant a seed of doubt in his heart.
however my parents eat sleep and breathe wt.
If your parents are old, you may as well let them die in the fantasy than attempt to shatter their delusions. I'm not bothering to try and influence my 76 year old mother no matter how much i'd like her to see the lie she believes in.
there seems to be an endless number of ways to show the bible is not devinely inspired but all of it seems so complicated.
anyone know any simple arguements for this?
